Online Information/Story Not Always True

This is an enormous amount of information that is available on the internet and due to modern technology, these information is now easy for online users to find.

Much of these information  available online are true, useful and harmless, but a very good number of them are false, worthless and dangerous. for these very reason, we need to be very careful of what we read online.

So the idea common to most internet user, that a news report must be true just because it is online, is not well encourage.
So if an online story seems to be very unusual, to good to be true, or unbelievable, the reality/fact might be that the information is probably is.

So to help you not to be tricked into believing a false story you read online, no matter ho popular that story/information might be, we need to first ask yourself:

  • Is the information from a reliable website, possibly from an official website?
  • Is the story from a website that allows just anybody to post/write his opinion on them?
  • Worst yet, is the source of the information unknown?

The answer to these will help to ascertain if a story is worth believing or not.

Also we should not quickly discard criticism.
Hence we should try to know if a trusted website has before shown that the story/information you are reading is false.

You should also note that some new stories that appears might have already be exposed as false in the past.

The Main Point
The internet is a good source of information, but Not every story/information online is true.
So we should not be naive, believing every information on the internet.
