The Main Function Of Notify-An App By Facebook

Many people think that the main function which the Facebook Notify App is designed to perform is to give it user real time notifications of activities on their respective facebook account.
But regarding to the main function of this app, this ideal is far from what facebook have in mind when developing the app.

Writing about this topic on facebook official blog, Julian Gutman -A Product Manager for Facebook- write: "Notifications are becoming one of the primary ways people first learn about things wherever they are. Today we are introducing Notify, a new app from Facebook that deliver's timely notification about the things that matter to you, from the sources you love, all in one place."

With those words, it is therefore clear that this app  has nothing to do with the activity of its user Facebook account, instead it is a way for its user to monitor the web on things/matters its user are interested in, such as sports, celebrities, news movies, music or shopping e.t.c., from external official source (non facebook related source), who authorize facebook to provide such notification to its Notify app users.
